"Our brain is fertile soil. It grows what we give it." That's the whole thing, isn't it β€” so much of what a rejection costs us is the weeds we plant in ourselves afterwards, without noticing. But you kept watering the things you actually wanted to grow. Two novels bloomed out of showing up at 10pm anyway. Thank you for the reminder that growth mostly happens where no one's watching. 🌸

Oh, these were beautiful words on handling rejection. I’m taking them to heart. Rejection meets all of us. I try to let every emotion pass through as it comes β€” and keep walking.

Dua's avatar

I appreciate your kindness dear. Thank you so much for the appreciation and for reading. Means a lot truly. βœ¨πŸ’• Keep walking is the best advice. No matter how rejection hurts, we should let the emotions pass !!πŸͺ„ Great advice.

Rejection humbles us because sometimes we think everything is handed easily. It also helps us value the hard work we had to do before reaching our goals and respect people who have walked the same path.

One advice from my father that I always bring is to accept what happened because that is where anxiety comes if I’m still in denial. Accepting the situation makes your mind clear and you will be able to think of your next steps. Lastly, nothing is permanent. Eventually, we will reach our dreams.

That's such a lovely comment. Thank you so much for explaining this so vividly. Also, I appreciate you discussing your father’s amazing advice. πŸŒΉπŸ«‚ Your father’s advice is pure gold. Accepting is truly important otherwise our mind stays in denial. I love it that your comment has a message of hope in it. 🌸 Sending love dear. <3.

This is the part I need to get better at, that resilience to get back up and truly try again. Thanks so much for spreading your wisdom, and in it, a positivity that cannot be shaken.

Thank you so much Natasha for the beautiful words. I also struggle with getting back on track and try again. I really enjoyed this piece about dealing with rejection, Dua❀️✨Amazing tips.

Many times, rejection comes to move you away from a path that was never yours, to make room for something bigger, and to redirect your attention toward new possibilitiesπŸ’«

Dua, the image of planting a seed after each rejection gives disappointment a physical answer: care, repetition, and patience. Your journal pages, late-night writing during your mother’s recovery, and the cheerful company of your budgies show resilience as a practice built from ordinary acts. The essay’s deepest contribution is its refusal to let another person’s decision become the final authority over a writer’s growth. Thank you for turning rejection into a garden where effort remains visible even before recognition arrives.

Kevin! I'm always so delighted to read your comments !πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’• Thank you so much for reading so closely and for paying attention to the details. 🌹😍 Also, I am very happy to read your words of appreciation. I'm grateful. Thank you so so so much. Sending love. xoxoxo

Stunning piece. So many wise words here. I loved how you said flowers bloom because they're watered, not chosen. And this: "The beautiful thing about rejection is that it has terrible eyesight. It mistakes potential for impossibility." I definitely struggle with rejection. I want to find a new job, but I'm worried about the potential pain and disappointments I will go through when I start job hunting. But delaying this won't solve anything. I've to start. The companies that will reject me can reject me now or 6 months from now. The company that is meant for me can choose me now or later. I'm the one who is delaying all of this. Despite saying all of this. It's tough cause the brain likes the comofort zone, but nothing grows there.

Dua's avatar

Thank you so much dear Venisa for reading and appreciating my article. πŸŒΉπŸŒΈπŸ’•βœ¨ It means a lot truly ! Also, I'm glad this helps. I can relate to you. I'm also going through something similar. But I believe the right company will probably reach out to you. I also sometimes delay stuff that gives me depression and job hunting is truly stressful especially for a fresher like me. I hope you find a job that can bring out your potential and also the one that is the right fit for you. Sending love. xoxo. πŸ’•βœ¨πŸŒΈπŸŒΉ

Thank you for this stunning reminder, Dua ❀️ rejection is part of life and although it hurts when it happens, it redirects us and eventually leads us on the right path. Patience, believing in ourselves and working hard always pays off, sooner or later 🫢🏼✨
